THE EXHIBITION
Luminis Corpus is latin for “Body of Light.” This media exhibition by Artist Bahr III in collaboration with Alyona Amato delivers a mesmerizing visual journey derived from an experimental relationship between light, choreography, technology and cinematography. However, the most important and vital ingredients are an unwavering dedication and passion that both artists share for discovery within their respective crafts. Utilizing 360 cameras, an array of projectors, and some editing magic tricks, Bahr III has developed a series of short films with Alyona to provoke visual transcendence in hopes to leave you inspired by the limitless wonder of creativity.
THE ARTISTS
Alyona Amato is a world class choreographer, dancer, and classically trained ballerina hailing from Siberia, Russia. She has choreographed, led and performed in dance troupes throughout the World. Her dedication to the art of dance and mastery of ones own body along with her life journey have gifted us with her presence here in the enchanting town of Wilmington. Her movements have graced the stages of film festivals and theaters abound throughout the US.
Johnny Bahr III is a Wilmington native with an unrelinquishing thirst for creative experimentation. Holding a degree in mechanical engineering he opted for an untraditional route and decided instead to pursue purpose in the convergence of visual art and technology. His 15 year self-taught career as an artist continues to be fueled by curiosity and the discovery of beauty when mind, man, and machine are combined in a symbiotic synthesis.
THE VENUE
This experience will take place inside a Historic Mansion located in Downtown Wilmington. It was built in the Jeffersonian style based on neoclassical architecture at the turn of the 20th century. It has been the home and office to a myriad of interesting groups and individuals throughout its tenure and comes complete with its own ghost story. It is currently home to an extensive private collection of art and artifacts and is in the process of being converted into a private museum that includes an experiential art heavy Airbnb. This exhibit will be limited to rooms on the first floor and an outdoor exhibition and will be guided by the Artist.
WHAT TO EXPECT
For this experience we have opted for quality over quantity. The journey will take approximately one hour and will be limited to only 4 people per hour. A complimentary refreshment will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own to enjoy if you have a specific preference. It is our hope that by creating a more intimate environment, we will create the opportunity to establish connection through mutual art appreciation and to engage in constructive discussion about the art. Please arrive promptly at your selected time allocation so that we can remain on schedule for our next guests.
